User Guide
Learn how to set up Calotick as your always-on smart display.
Setup Steps
- 1
Open Calotick in Your Browser
Visit https://calotick.yukinon-lab.com on the device you want to use as a smart display. Works on smartphones, tablets, PCs — any device with a browser.
- 2
Add to Home Screen (Recommended)
Calotick supports PWA installation. Use your browser menu to select "Add to Home Screen" or "Install as App" for a full-screen, app-like experience.
- 3
Plug In and Place
Connect your device to a charger and place it somewhere visible. Calotick uses the Wake Lock API to prevent sleep, so it stays on as long as it's charging.
- 4
Connect Google Calendar (Optional)
Sign in with your Google account from Settings to display Google Calendar events. See today's schedule and upcoming meetings at a glance.
Device-Specific Setup
Android
- Open Calotick in Chrome, tap menu (⋮) and select "Add to Home Screen"
- Settings → Display → Sleep → Set to "Stay Awake" (recommended: while charging only)
- Disable battery optimization for Calotick
- Reduce screen brightness for long-term use (30–50% recommended)
iPhone / iPad
- Open Calotick in Safari, tap Share (□↑) and select "Add to Home Screen"
- Settings → Display & Brightness → Auto-Lock → "Never"
- Turn off Low Power Mode (it may restrict Wake Lock behavior)
- iOS Safari has limited Wake Lock support — use the auto-reload feature or tap periodically
PC (Windows / Mac)
- Open Calotick in Chrome or Edge, click the install icon in the address bar
- Disable sleep mode in power settings or turn off screensaver
- Use full-screen mode (F11) for the best smart display experience
- If you have a secondary monitor, Calotick works great as a dedicated display
How Burn-In Protection Works
OLED and some LCD displays can suffer from burn-in when the same image is displayed for extended periods. This is especially relevant for clock displays where digits are always shown in the same area.
Calotick's burn-in protection works by slowly shifting the entire display content in random directions every few minutes. The shift is subtle enough to be imperceptible, but distributes pixel load over time to significantly reduce burn-in risk.
Combined with dark mode and automatic brightness reduction in low-light environments, Calotick minimizes pixel stress for long-term use.
