Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about Calotick.
Q1.Is Calotick free to use?
Basic clock and calendar display features — including Google Calendar integration — are free. Advanced features like analog clocks, photo frame mode, and weather widgets are available in the Pro plan. See our pricing page for details.
Q2.What devices does Calotick support?
Any device with a modern browser — Android/iPhone smartphones, iPads and other tablets, and Windows/Mac/Linux PCs. Supported browsers include Chrome, Edge, and Firefox.
Q3.What is screen burn-in?
Burn-in occurs when the same image is displayed on a screen for a long time, leaving a faint ghost image. It is especially common on OLED panels and is a real concern for always-on clock apps. Calotick has built-in burn-in protection that periodically shifts the display.
Q4.Can I disable burn-in protection?
Yes, you can toggle burn-in protection in the Settings screen. You can also adjust shift intensity (Pro plan).
Q5.What is Wake Lock?
Wake Lock is a browser API that prevents your device screen from sleeping automatically. Calotick uses the Screen Wake Lock API. Note: iOS Safari has limited support, so you may need to set Auto-Lock to "Never" in device settings.
Q6.How does Google Calendar integration work?
Sign in with your Google account from Settings to automatically display calendar events. Data is fetched securely via the Google API and never stored on our servers. If you have multiple calendars, you can choose which ones to display.
Q7.Does Calotick work offline?
Yes. As a PWA, Calotick can display basic clock and calendar information offline after initial load. Google Calendar sync and account features require an internet connection.
Q8.Do I need to install an app?
No installation required — just use it in your browser. However, installing it as a PWA (Add to Home Screen) gives you full-screen display, offline support, and faster loading.
Q9.How is my personal data handled?
Calotick values user privacy. Google Calendar data is not stored on our servers — it is fetched via API only when needed. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Q10.What should I do if Wake Lock doesn't work on iOS?
iOS Safari has limited Wake Lock support. Try these steps: ① Set Settings → Display & Brightness → Auto-Lock to "Never" ② Turn off Low Power Mode ③ Launch Calotick as a PWA from your home screen in full-screen mode.
Q11.Can I sync settings across multiple devices?
Google Calendar data syncs automatically when using the Calendar integration. Settings sync across devices is planned for the Pro plan.
Q12.Does it work on corporate or school Wi-Fi?
Calotick runs over HTTPS and works on most corporate and school networks. Some features (e.g. external API calls) may be restricted depending on network policies.
